Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her early roles on Broadway include the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside well-known directors and actors for stage productions and on television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford's next project will be a limited edition Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust that stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney DTC's platform. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that produced Hamilton, will direct the musical. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal that included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. For two seasons, she played a prominent role in CBS's hit comedy B Positive. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin as well as Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It with You won her the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and is now dividing her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
